Training Approach and Methodology
The Creative Hubs were grounded in a comprehensive training framework designed to equip facilitators with the necessary tools and competences to support migrant women effectively. The training focused on:
Creative writing techniques and participatory methodologies
Cultural sensitivity and empathy-building approaches
Practical strategies to address barriers such as language differences and trauma-informed facilitation
Hands-on activities, case studies, and interactive teaching methods
The aim was to empower trainers to create inclusive and supportive environments where migrant women could safely engage in creative expression and personal development.
Evaluation and Continuous Improvement
Following the implementation, evaluation activities were conducted to assess the effectiveness and impact of the sessions. Feedback from participants highlighted both the quality of the facilitation and, most importantly, their active engagement and emotional involvement, which emerged as one of the strongest indicators of success.
The follow-up process also included reflection and continuous support for facilitators, ensuring that lessons learned from the Creative Hubs can be integrated into future activities and workshops. This ongoing feedback loop contributes to the long-term sustainability and impact of the project.
A Meaningful and Transformative Experience
The Creative Hubs implemented by Odyssea in Greece proved to be a deeply meaningful and transformative experience for all involved. Beyond skills development, the sessions created a space where migrant women could reconnect with themselves and each other through creativity, expression, and shared humanity.
The strong participation, engagement, and emotional resonance of the activities confirmed the value of this approach and its potential for future replication.

As part of the project implementation in Greece, Odyssea successfully delivered a series of Creative Hubs designed to empower migrant women from diverse cultural, linguistic, and social backgrounds through creative expression, storytelling, and collaborative learning.
The Creative Hubs were implemented between 18 May and mid-June, following an intensive preparation period of almost one month. This time was dedicated to carefully organizing the sessions in a way that ensured accessibility and comfort for all female participants, taking into account their personal responsibilities, daily schedules, and individual needs. In some cases, the hubs were delivered in both morning and evening rounds, allowing greater flexibility and ensuring meaningful participation from all involved.
A Safe Space for Expression and Connection
The Creative Hubs brought together women with different migration journeys, languages, and lived experiences. Within a safe and supportive environment, participants were encouraged to express themselves freely and creatively.
Through a wide range of artistic and participatory activities, the women shared their stories, cultures, and emotions by transforming them into creative outputs. They drew their experiences, danced their memories, and sang their identities—turning personal narratives into collective moments of expression and empowerment.
The atmosphere throughout the sessions was highly participatory and collaborative, fostering a strong sense of trust, community, and mutual understanding among participants.
