Training Educators to foster inclusion through narrative
The Train the Trainers programme was successfully delivered in Italy, bringing together educators and trainers in a highly engaging and collaborative environment.

The Stories of Strength project, funded by the European Union, supports migrant women through creative writing and storytelling in its broadest sense, fostering inclusion, self-confidence, and the development of language skills.
As part of the project, the Train the Trainers programme was successfully delivered in Italy, bringing together educators and trainers in a highly engaging and collaborative environment. The activity was met with great satisfaction by participants, who appreciated both the content and the interactive approach of the training.
The programme was designed to equip educators and trainers with practical tools to apply storytelling in educational and intercultural contexts. Throughout the training, participants explored the fundamentals of storytelling, engaged in autobiographical writing and empowerment exercises, and deepened their understanding of trauma-sensitive facilitation strategies—essential for creating safe and inclusive spaces. Particular attention was also given to managing culturally sensitive content, alongside the use of targeted methodologies and practical tools.
A key focus was placed on storytelling as a driver for social change: trainers learned how to support participants in transforming personal experiences into powerful messages capable of generating empathy, challenging stereotypes, and giving voice to stories that are often unheard.
Digital storytelling was also introduced, demonstrating how to create impactful narrative content using simple and accessible tools such as smartphones, audio recordings, and short videos.
In the coming weeks, the project will enter a new phase with the launch of the Creative Hubs, where migrant women will have the opportunity to take part in workshops focused on digital storytelling, further enhancing their skills and amplifying their voices.
Thanks to this training pathway, trainers have gained valuable competences to guide participants through processes of expression, empowerment, and integration—contributing to the development of more inclusive and aware communities.
